Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ) on behalf of the U.S. Army Project Manager Close Combat Systems (PM CCS), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is currently seeking sources that have a mature (technology readiness level 7 or higher) Wireless Remote Demolition Initiation system (kit) and are capable of manufacturing and supplying a limited number of this system, and its components. The Wireless Remote Initiator system must be a small, lightweight, man-portable remote firing device capable of initiating demolition and munition items in geographical areas, weather conditions, and hostile battlefield conditions which may include electronic countermeasures, smoke, dust, and small arms fire. The system should be durable and contain reusable items of supply. Systems should minimize additional hardware/devices that may be required for training. Respondents to this survey should provide information as to whether 1-40 full system kits, 10-250 receivers and 1-5 transmitters can be delivered, and a tentative delivery schedule. Respondents to this market survey should provide information as to whether their system has a reliability requirement of 90% or higher. The system should be able to initiate demolition and munitions up to five (5) kilometer (KM) Line of Sight (LOS). The system shall be one-man portable/transportable in the operational configuration and will require no more than one-man to move in its shipping configuration. The system should be rugged enough to withstand the rigors of combat operations while a Soldier conducts Individual Movement Techniques and still meet the 90% reliability requirement. The system should consist of a transmitter capable of addressing a single receiver or simultaneously addressing multiple receivers, and receiver(s) with the following capabilities: a receiver capable of functioning Military M6 Electric blasting caps, and simultaneously firing up to four series-connected electric blasting caps. a. The transmitter should not exceed two (2) pounds total weight including the power source and antenna. It is desired that the system have a capability to relay the initiation command to another transmitter and receiver set. All transmission codes must be unique to each transmitter. The transmitter must utilize a commercially available power source and shall provide sufficient power for forty (40) transmissions. Details on the system operational frequency/frequencies and status of frequency allocation should be provided. b. Receivers should retain their programmed codes when the device is powered down. Receivers will have an arming delay mechanism. The receiver must use a commercially available power source. It is required that the Receivers power source provide a minimum operational employment time of two (2) days and a desired operational employment time of up to fifteen (15) days. Receivers and the shock tube initiation device shall not weigh more than 1.25 lbs and fit into the cargo pocket of the ACU trouser. The system receivers should include, but are not limited to, the following: A reusable electrical output receiver capable of initiating up to four Military M6 blasting caps at 100 feet utilizing any two conductor field wire. Respondents should identify whether their system design would meet/would not meet or has been tested to the following Department of Defense standards. MIL-STD-461 Electromagnetic Interference MIL-STD-464 Electromagnetic Environmental Effects MIL-STD-810 Environmental Engineering Considerations and Laboratory Tests MIL-STD-1472 Human Engineering MIL-STD-882 Standard Practice for System Safety MIL-STD-1316 Fuze Design, Safety Criteria For MIL-STD-1911 Hand Emplace Ordnance Design, Safety Criteria For This market survey is for information and planning purposes only, it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government.
