- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Health Forum, INC. for an annual agency wide data license to American Hospital Association (AHA) Annual Survey of Hospitals. Various CDC CIOs conduct public health research utilizing datasets from the AHA Annual Survey of Hospitals. Health Forum, INC. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the AHA and is the exclusive provider of AHA FY 2012 Annual Survey Database and AHA IT/EHR 2012 Survey Supplement Database (2013 release). The license will be for one year from date of award. AHA Annual Survey Database - 2012 A CD that contains a snapshot of hospital-specific data on approximately 6,500 hospitals and 400-plus systems, including as many as 1,000 data fields covering organizational structure, personnel, hospital facilities and services, and financial performance. It includes a documentation book with a Summary of Changes that identifies open, closed, and merged hospitals compared to the prior year. The database is released annually in November. Refer to the following for additional information on AHA survey data: http://www.ahadataviewer.com/book-cd-products/AHA-Survey/ and AHA Annual Survey Database AHA Healthcare IT Database: A Supplement to the AHA Annual Survey of Hospitals - 2012 is a database based on an annual survey of U.S. hospitals that tracks the adoption of electronic health records (also known as electronic medical records). The data from 3,200 hospitals include electronic clinical documentation, results viewing, decision support, bar coding and more. The Healthcare IT Database includes: Details on hospitals readiness in achieving meaningful use and their intent in applying for incentive payments. The adoption level of computerized systems for: o Electronic clinical documentation: physician & nurse notes, medication lists, etc. o Results viewing: lab & radiology reports, radiology images, etc. o Decision Support: drug alerts, clinical reminders, etc. o Bar coding: patient ID, lab specimens, pharmaceutical tracking, etc. Primary inpatient and outpatient vendors used for the EHR/EMR systems and details on anticipated changes. This contract action is for commercial items for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received by 2:00 p.m. EST on February 28, 2014 will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to Pamela J.
