Description

VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care Systems Request For Information NWIHCS is requesting information on state of the art wheelchairs for the Omaha, Grand Island, Lincoln, Shenandoah, Norfolk, Bellevue, North Platte, and Holdrege facilities. This is not a solicitation for purchase only for information to meet a potential future need within NWIHCS. Wheelchairs to meet the needs for transporting patients within our facilities takes many forms and may be used by Veterans independently, by VA Staff and Volunteers to transport the patients and by visitors within our facilities who accompany our Veterans or are here to visit them. We are interested in wheelchairs that are manual, bariatric sized, standard sized, powered for transport, self-locking and/or self-locking mechanisms to prevent falls from ingress/egress, have non-removable parts, have the ability to go through a "car wash/cart wash", anti-theft capabilities, stackable or easy to store, color coded or have the ability to be visually recognized for weight capacity and Unit/Department, and durable braking mechanism. Interested parties will need to be available with their products on Thursday, 13 March from 0730-1000 CST at the Omaha VA and from 1300-1530 CST at the Grand Island VA where representatives from the NWIHCS will evaluate these products.
