- 1. Draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) - R&D Services for Survivability and Fire Protection The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is seeking potential firms who have the skills, experience, knowledge and capabilities required to conduct applied research and development studies to help solve current and future United States Navy (USN) problems in the fields of combustion, fire modeling and scaling, fuels and environmental hazards, and fire extinguishment. Hughes Associates is the incumbent contractor on contract number N00173-12-D-2002. In order to aid industry in evaluating their ability to perform the requirement, the following document has been attached and is provided herein this RFI: 1. Draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) - R&D Services for Survivability and Fire Protection The expected place of performance for this requirement is Naval Research Lab, Washington, DC (NRL-DC); NRL Chesapeake Bay Detachment (CBD), located in Chesapeake Beach, MD; NLR-Fire Test Ship, ex-USS SHADWELL, located in Mobile, AL, and at various contractor, subcontractor, and Government facilities (mainly in the continental United States). A 5-year Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with cost-reimbursable and firm fixed price task orders is contemplated. Contract award is estimated for Dec 2014/Jan 2015. Request that all interested offerors provide a capability statement which briefly describes previous and/or current work experience in or relating to the areas listed above. Information must be submitted by close of business 14 March 2014 to Brian Zavertnik, Contract Specialist, phone 202-404-1345, email: brian.zavertnik@nrl.navy.mil. All information should be submitted via email or telephone. This notice is for informational and planning purposes only and does not constitute a request for proposal and is not considered a commitment by the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this sources sought notice. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
