Description

This is a leasing opportunity at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine. The project property is located within the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard at the southern end of Seavey Island. The property is approximately one mile from downtown Portsmouth, NH and 50 miles north of Boston, MA. The project is a real estate lease for Building 93, the former Portsmouth Naval Prison, a multi-story reinforced concrete structure containing approximately 265,000 square feet of space, and approximately 11.6 acres of related waterfront land at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Information regarding the condition of Building 93 is attached. The Government assumes no responsibility for any conclusions or interpretations made by the Contractor based on the information made available by the Government. Nor does the Government assume responsibility for any understanding reached or representation made concerning conditions which can affect work under this leasing opportunity, unless that understanding or representation is expressly stated in the awarded lease contract. The project property is accessible through Portsmouth Naval Shipyard or by water. Access through Portsmouth Naval Shipyard will be subject at all times to such procedures, regulations and requirements as promulgated by Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. The initial lease term shall not exceed 50 years. The Navy may enter into a succeeding lease under the same of similar terms conditioned upon the lessee ™s satisfactory performance under the initial lease and if determined to be in the Government ™s best interest. A draft Request For Qualifications (RFQ) providing detailed information regarding the leasing opportunity is attached. The draft RFQ is for informational purposes only and does not commit the Government to proceed with the leasing opportunity. The RFQ does not commit the Government to contract for services, or pay any costs incurred in attending the industry forum or the preparation of any submission in response to the RFQ. Industry Forum: Prior to release of the final RFQ, an industry forum and site visit will be held. The industry forum will be held on April 9, 2014 at the Regatta Banquet and Conference Center, Eliot ME. The industry forum will begin at 9:00 am EST and end at approximately 2:00 pm EST. Only registered attendees will be allowed access to the industry forum and site visit. Registration will end at 5:00 pm EST on March 28, 2014. Hotel accommodations will be the responsibility of the registrants and are available in the vicinity of the industry forum location.
