- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE FOR A ROOF PROJECT AT EIELSON AFB, AK. The U.S.A.F. is seeking to identify potential contractors qualified to perform roof repair work in the Fairbanks Alaska region. The Government is contemplating a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Sealed Bid contract for a roof repair project. The estimated magnitude is between $100,000 and $250,000. This posting is a request for information from interested vendors and is issued solely for informational and planning purposes. This posting is not a Request for Proposals. Respondees are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if one is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the FedBizOps website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. The work shall include but is not limited to: Repair by replacement (warranty included) of 2 existing roof sections, 1 Built-Up Roof Membrane (BUR) flat roof to roof decking, including insulation, underlayments, metal flashings, drain covers to include all associated clips and fasteners. Install new Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) system insulated to R38 in accordance with manufacturer's specifications in areas previously covered by BUR roofing systems an area of approximately 7,209 square feet to extend up and over if appropriate over parapet Fire wall including removal and replacement of approximately (4) each roof drains. Contractor shall furnish all plant and labor, all materials, supplies and equipment, to include facilities necessary to perform work requirement, transportation to and from job site, inspect, restore, repair or replace roofs. The proposed work will consist of some or all of the following; Remove approximately 3,064 square feet of existing BUR membrane on a flat roof. Remove approximately 4,399 square feet of single ply & 1 section of insulated roof membrane with Pavers. Remove approximately 7,463 square feet adhered or mechanically attached roof insulation, over 4" average thickness. Remove approximately 470 square feet existing metal flashing, drip edge and expansion joint, to include all associated clips and fasteners. Remove approximately 50 square feet of mechanical vents, and duct work. Install approximately 7,463 square feet of tapered insulation, roof crickets, and/ or saddles, install remanufactured flashing for Vent Through Roof's (VTRs) (4 each per roof plan). Install approximately 6 roof drains not to exceed 6" in diameter, includes bowl installation, patching, flashing and associated components. Install approximately 3,064 square feet of 5/8" Gypsheeting thermal barrier. Install approximately 972 square feet of plywood sheathing ½" AWPA C9 treated on parapet wall. Install approximately 3,064 square feet vapor barrier, FFP-8 mil polyethylene. Install approximately 60 lineal feet up to 4" piping for roof drains, including hangers and accessories.
