Description
**********SEND ALL INFORMATION AND CORRESPONDENCE INCLUDING TECHNICAL QUESTIONS IN WRITING TO CHARLIE HOLT AT charles.a.holt@nasa.gov; OR FAX: (256)961-9604********** NASA/MSFC has a requirement for fastcomm drivers, retrofitted RCIM-III GPS, and maintenance to be used in the Integrated Avionics Test Facilities (IATF) under the Vehicle Integration project within the Space Launch Systems program. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Concurrent Computer Corporation (CCC) on a sole source basis. The Fastcomm drivers are software products that allow the users to integrate I/O cards in iHawk systems and provide real-time performance with the proprietary RedHawk Linux operating system provided by CCC. The retrofitted GPS are peripheral devices that will be used with the iHawk systems. CCC provides the iHawk systems with their proprietary RedHawk Linux real-time operating system and peripheral I/O devices as well as the certification for these products. Due to the established compatibility of the IATF labs, the drivers, GPS and maintenance must be purchased from CCC to maintain functionality between the labs. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to charles.a.holt@nasa.gov no later than 7:00 a.m. CST on March 10, 2014. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/p ub_library/Omb.html.
