Description

Class J&A The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a firm fixed price task order, under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-11-G-0001, with The Boeing Company of St. Louis, MO, in support of the F/A-18 aircraft. In order to gain a better understanding of the performance characteristics of the F/A-18 Arresting Hook Actuator (AHA) under normal and mis-serviced dynamic conditions, the F/A-18 Fleet Support Team (Landing Gear Engineering) requires dynamic testing of the F/A-18 AHA utilizing a modified version of Patria Shock Absorber Load Measurement Apparatus (SALMA). The NAVAIR US Navy F/A-18 A/D AHA testing results will be used to aid in redesigning the AHA fitting and refining the fleet servicing procedures and parameters. This award is based on Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), whereby the supplies or services required are available from only one source, and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Boeing Company is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer, and supplier of the F/A-18 A-F and E/A-18G aircraft and is uniquely qualified to provide the complete range of program support required by the Fleet. The Boeing Company is the only known firm that possesses the technical data, resources, and expertise necessary to fulfill the Government's requirements.
