- The Natick Solder Research Development and Engineering Center (NSRDEC) are issuing a source sought notice to identify potential sources within the greater Boston area/ Boston Metrowest area/ Boston-Worcester Metropolitan areas that can provide/deliver and install two autoclaves (sterilizers) for sterilizing laboratory liquids and solids. These autoclaves should provide fast, safe, dependable and convenient steam sterilization for liquids, media, instruments, glassware, clothing and waste. A descriptive for each is below: requirement one is for a large capacity autoclave with built in steam generator; requirement two is for a smaller capacity electric autoclave (table top model/with stand) which can be manually filled with water to generate steam for sterilization. REQUIREMENT ONE: Large Capacity Autoclave Approximate Size of Chamber: 20 quote mark X 20 quote mark X 38 quote mark, 316L stainless steel chamber, carbon steel jacket, gravity air removal, stainless steel cabinet mounting, integral electrically heated steam generator with automatic water fill, feed water pump, and low water cutoff protection, Allen-Bradley Micrologix PLC control system, alpha numeric impact printer, surge suppressor for controls, emergency manual override, internal pressure door lock, radial arm door with solid silicone gasket, left hinged door, automatic wastewater cooling system to bring temperature of waste to 140 degree F, one year warranty for parts and labor. Include installation cost. This will replace current autoclave that should have the same or similar electrical and water requirements at location. REQUIREMENT TWO: Small Capacity Electric Autoclave Approximate Size of Chamber: 15 quote mark diameter X 20 quote mark deep, chamber constructed of 316L high grade stainless steel, analog control with analog display of temperature and pressure, heat-insulated double-locking door, a dead-bolt door mechanism for safety when chamber is under pressure, automatic low water level shut-off to prevent damage to heating elements when there is insufficient water, fast exhaust option and a slow exhaust option, water reservoir which allows control of the purity of the sterilized steam and allows for repeated use without the need to refill very often, support stand included for table-top models, one year warranty for parts and labor. This will replace current autoclave that should have the same or similar electrical requirements at location. Responses: All interested distributers and manufacturers, regardless of size, are encouraged to respond to this request for information. Information submissions should include available product pricing, product literature, and relevant company background/experience. Information submissions must be received by 14 Mar 2014. All information supplied will be considered confidential, unless otherwise specified by the firm or available from other sources without restriction. This sources sought is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute an Invitation for Bid (IFB) or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is not to be taken as a future commitment by NSRDEC. Estimated cost, minimum and maximum delivery schedule and any anticipated discounts. 5. If applicable a GSA Schedule. 6. All assumptions, including any assumed Government support.
