Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee intends to issue a sole source firm fixed priced contract to the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC). The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer will provide an external peer review of all processes involved in the care of Veterans with cancer. This review will assess 32 points of care necessary for outstanding quality and adherence to national standards of care for people with cancer. The services will be performed at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center, 800 Zorn Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206. A sole source procurement will be issued to the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) because they are the only vendor capable of providing the multidisciplinary standards and comprehensive cancer care delivery within health care settings, surveys in health care settings to assess compliance with those standards, collection of standardized data from CoC-accredited health care settings which measures quality cancer care. In addition, this vendor is the only one capable of developing effective educational interventions to improve cancer prevention, early detection, cancer care delivery, and outcomes in health care settings. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 and 13.106-1(b) (2), "soliciting from a single source." The NAICS code is 813920 and has a size standard of $14M for this procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit quotations no later than 11:00a.m. EST, March 07, 2014 to: Matthew.Cox@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
