- This project is considered a small business set-aside. The FAA is seeking experienced firms to provide all labor, material, equipment, tools, supervision and transportation to provide the scope of work as follows: SCOPE: This project covers the ZAU FY14 Sustain- Mechanical work at the Chicago AR TCC in Aurora, Illinois. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Part A: Replace AHU-4 and AHU-5 in Automation Wing First Floor: 1.Remove existing AHU-4 and AHU-5, piping, valves, floor stand, and overhead duct plenum. 2.Disconnect and disable existing DDC control systems and electrical power. 3.Furnish and install two new Liebe1i units, with 5 Hp motor, two-way control valves, chilled, hot, steam, drain piping, insulation, steam traps, isolation valves, check valves, flexible connections, temperature/pressure gages, and miscellaneous accessories etc. with capacity as shown on drawing ZAU-D-ARTCC-M214. 4.Provide new Liebe1i units with BACnet controllers. 5.Provide new two 18" adjustable floor stands with turning vanes and elbows. 6.Provide new ducted pre-filter plenum to existing ceiling. Contractor to modify existing ceiling grid and repair ceiling and floor panel as required. 7.Contractor to reconnect and enable DDC systems and power feed to the new units. Provide new wiring as required. 8.Provide testing, adjusting and balancing for the water and air systems. 9.Provide other new work as shown on drawing ZAU-D-ARTCC-M214 and as required by the specifications. Part B: Replace VAV System at Automation Wing Attic: 1.Provide dust protection for occupants in the Auto Wing 2nd floor below attic level. 2.Disconnect and disable existing DDC systems for AHU-11 and AHU-12, and associated power as required. 3.Remove existing 19 VAV boxes in the Auto Wing attic and replace with new for AHU-11 and AHU-12. All new VAV boxes shall have BACnet controllers. Provide new reheating hot water coils, and replace modulation control valves for VAV-1 through VAV-4, VAV-6, VAV-11 through VAV-14 with new per VAV schedule on drawing ZAU-D-ARTCC-M213. 4.Modify existing duct work as required for installing VAV boxes for AHU-11 and AHU-12 VAV systems. 5.Existing VAV box reheat coil flexible connections shall be removed and replaced with new hard piping. 6.Existing finned tube radiator modulation control valves shall be removed and replaced with new per drawing ZAU-D-AR TCC-M213. 7.Re-balance supply air flow for the existing thermafuser diffusers in room 250 in the Auto Wing 2nd floor per partial plan Bin drawing ZAU-D-ARTCC-M213. 8.Repair and re-insulate ductwork and piping for the VAV systems. 9.Reconnect and enable DDC systems for AHU-11 and AHU-12. 10.Provide all required supports for modified ductwork, new VAV boxes, and piping. 11.All other work as shown on drawing ZAU-D-ARTCC-M213 and as required by the specifications. Part C: Replace Backflow Preventers: 1.Replace the fire protection system backflow preventer station at the Admin wing in the basement mechanical room. The replacement shall include the 6" double check detector assembly (DCDA) and its 3/4" bypass double check assembly. 2.Replace the boiler feed backflow preventer station in the Admin wing basement boiler room. The replacement includes 1 112" reduced pressure zone assembly (RPZA) and its open drain & piping. 3.Replace the backflow preventer station in the Generator building. The replacement includes 1 1/2" reduced pressure zone assembly (RPZA) and its open drain & piping. 4.Replace the backflow preventer station in the Guard house bathroom. The replacement includes 1" reduced pressure zone assembly (RPZA) and its open drain, piping and shutoff valves. 5.Replace the backflow preventer stations in the Child Care Facility Mechanical room. The replacement includes 3" and 4" reduced pressure zone assemblies (RPZA) and its open drain & piping. Option 1: Provide Control Wing and Automation Wing Attic Walkways: 1.In the Automation Wing attic add walkways as marked on reference drawing GL-D- 2331-AOOS. Work Item 1: Extend existing walkway between equipment areas. Provide new grating and handrail as required and modify existing for a complete access walkway Work Item 2: Extend existing walkway over existing grated area with new guardrail. Modify existing guardrail as required. Work Item 3: Re-route existing flexible duct for headroom clearance. Use metal duct of equivalent area and turning vanes at 90-degree elbows. 2.In the Control Wing attic add walkways as marked on reference drawing ZAU-GL D-2834-S201 and detailed on reference drawing ZAU-GL-D-2834-S302. Work Item 1: Extend walkway checkered plate and guardrail to match adjacent existing. Modify existing guardrail as required. Work Item 2: Extend walkway plate and guardrail to match adjacent existing. Work Item 3: Remove section of cable tray on walkway. Work ltem 4: Remove existing loose grating sections from attic and dispose. 3.In the Control Wing attic add walkways as marked on reference drawing GL-D- 1935-Al4. Work Item 1: Extend walkway plate and guardrail to match adjacent existing. Modify existing guardrail as required. Work Item 2: Provide steel plate cover over opening in utility chase and tack weld into place. Work Item 3: Remove section of cable tray on walkway. 4.Perform all work in accord with specifications for a complete installation. Option 2: Replace Ventilation Fan System in Boiler Room: 1.Remove existing ventilation fan (VF-101) and associated electric duct heater (EHC- 101), including ductwork, plenum, insulation and accessories as shown on reference drawing ZAU-D-ARTCC-Ml04. 2.Provide 500 CFM air handling unit AHU-390 with electric heating coil, carbon filtration of adequate HP, and ductwork with motorized damper. 3.Provide DDC controls that are BACnet compatible. 4.Provide all required wiring and controls as required for a fully functional system. 5.Perform all work in accord with specifications for a complete installation. The estimated price range for this procurement is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. NAICS Code is 238220. The contractor awarded the contract must have active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) before award can be made. Contractors can register at www.sam.gov ANTICIPATED RELEASE OF RFO ON OR ABOUT MARCH 24, 2014. THERE WILL BE A MANDATORY SITE VISIT - DATE AND TIME WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN THE SOLICITATION. VERBAL REQUESTS FOR THE SIR WILL NOT BE HONORED. INTERESTED FIRMS MUST HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED SIMILAR PROJECTS BOTH IN DOLLAR AMOUNT AND SCOPE OF WORK WITHIN THE LAST THREE YEARS. INTERESTED FIRMS MUST COMPLETE AND SUBMIT ATTACHED BUSINESS DECLRATION FORM ALONG WITH A LETTER OF INTEREST. General contractors must submit their interest for subject project on letterhead and include the firm's name, address, e-mail, phone number, fax number, and point of contact by no later than March 14, 2014.
