- Description
- The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) is a Government owned corporation, established under Title IV of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) of 1974. Background and mission information are available at http://www.pbgc.gov/about/about.html. The PBGC has a requirement for Field Benefit Administration services. The Field Benefit Administration (FBA) serves a vital role in performing almost 100% of the participant administration on PBGC's trusteed plans. The work of the FBA typically begins when a plan is recommended for termination by the PBGC. The FBA is responsible for participant administration of the plan from trusteeship until a plan goes to Post Valuation Administration (PVA). Tasks to be performed under this Full & Open competitive procurement include, but not limited to the following: gathering and maintaining participant data; processing benefit payments to eligible participants and beneficiaries; processing deceased notification, address, and direct deposit changes; distributing benefit determination letters; maintaining participant documentation; handling oral and written inquiries from plan participants; performing plan closing; providing case processing audit support, to include database building, etc.; LAN Administration support; and, special projects such as supporting systems testing, participant meetings, etc. Services shall be provided in Government furnished facilities in Coraopolis, PA. The appropriate NAICS code for these services is 524292, THIRD PARTY ADMINISTRATION OF INSURANCE AND PENSION FUNDS, with a small business size standard of $30,000,000.00. The anticipated contract will have a base period of performance of twelve (12) months and four (4) option periods consisting of twelve (12) months each. In order to be eligible for award, all responsible sources must be registered with System for Award Management (SAM). Contractors may register online at the website, www.sam.gov. The solicitation and any amendments will be available through the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website https://www.fbo.gov.PBGC anticipates issuing the solicitation on or about March 27, 2014 and making an award on or about August 26, 2014. These dates are approximate. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO website for the most up-to-date information concerning this forthcoming solicitation. Paper copies of the solicitation and any amendments will not be distributed. Upon issuance of the solicitation, there will be an identified question and answer period.
