Description
The U.S. Forest Service, Northern Research Station has the need for architecture-eggineeering (A/E) services in fiscal Year 2014 and requests that interested A/E's submit their SF-330's (Parts 1 & 2) to be considered. This is not a request for for quotes. This is an opprtunity for AS/E's to exhibit thier desire to be considered and to illuminate their qualifications. The SF-330's can be maile, emailed or faxed to: Mail: USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station, Attn: Michael Ash, 1992 Folwell Ave, St. Paul, MN 55108-1034 Email: mikeash@fs.fed.us Fax: 651-649-5285 Northern Research Station Morgantown, WV Main Building HVAC Renovations Phase III Design: Estimated cost - $300,000.00 Location: Morgantown, WV Summary: Design the revovation and replacement of approximately 52 dual duct mixing boxes, associated ducting, acuators and dampers, 24 VAV boxes and ducting, hot water valves and controllers on three floors of a tee-shaped building. Create nine temperature control zones where none currently exist. Replqace pneumatic control system with digitial electrical controls. Install control sensors for each zone and thmostats in all rooms to allow nomial individual comfort adjustments. Install, progarm, test and certify DDC control/monitoring system for entire building. Background: This is a follow-up on work done previously. The major elements (cooling tower, boilers, air handlers and associated components) of the HVAC systems in Morgantown office/lab were replaced in 2001. A 20-ton rooftop chiller/compressor was replace in replaced in replaced The total system must be analyzed & desiged to provide greatest efficency in energy usage and improved comfort to the building occupants. The final phase to complete this system consists of the design and resizing of the system's ductwork, the replacement/upgrade of the mixing boxes and VAV boxes, and the addition of a Direct Digital Control (DDC) System. The existing air movement system, aside from the major mechanical components is over 50 years old.
