Description

Synopsis VA528-14-Q-0163: This is a public synopsis of a forthcoming solicitation in accordance with FAR 36.213-2. This is NOT a solicitation, and no solicitation documents are currently publically available. The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a construction contractor to furnish all labor, tools, materials, equipment, supplies and supervision to provide all necessary footings, supports, and construct a retaining wall to support the dirt from shafting and support the existing warehouse scale at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Buffalo, NY in accordance with the drawings and specifications. Work includes, but is not limited to, architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, etc. Project Number is 528-14-S21. Competition for this procurement is restricted to SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB). The work includes, but is not limited to all necessary footings, supports, and construction of a retaining wall to support the dirt from shafting and support the existing warehouse scale. Installation of a new beam on the underside of the existing concrete structural deck and support from piers and install temporary supports and shoring as required. The contractor verifies all existing conditions and dimensions in the field before the start of work. All concrete/grout shall be non-shrink. Footings shall set on undisturbed earth and all steel shall be fire proof. Back fill after retaining wall concrete curs and remove all concrete forms. Estimated construction cost range is $25,000 - $100,000. The firm must be a General Construction firm approved under NAICS: 236220, size standard: $33.5 million. The offeror shall obtain any and all necessary licenses or permits required to perform this work in the State of New York. Prospective contractors must be registered and certified online with http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov and must be registered at http://www.sam.gov in accordance with 38 CFR Part 74 and VAAR 819.70 to be eligible for award. Solicitation will be posted on/about March 27, 2014. A walk-through will be held on or about one week after the posting of the solicitation for this RFQ. These dates are estimates. The actual dates will be stated in the solicitation.
