Description
Description of Work: Two culverts, both found on Forest Road 646, shall be replaced under this contract. All instream work for both culvert sites must be accomplished during the following work window: July 1, 2014 - August 15, 2014. Lightning Fork Little Elk Creek Culvert, Road No. 646-MP 1.9 The project consists of the removal of an existing culvert and replacement with a new 10'-0" span by 5'-3" rise steel structural plate arch culvert on Forest Road No. 646 milepost 1.9. Improvements consist of but are not limited to: structure excavation, excavation and reshaping of the channel, placement of in-stream cross-vane structures, installation of a culvert, placement of riprap, precast concrete footings, embankment and excavation of the roadway approaches, and road surfacing. Little Elk Creek Culvert, Road No. 646-MP 2.5 The project consists of the removal of an existing culvert and replacement with a new 14'-0" span by 7'-3" rise steel structural plate arch culvert on Forest Road No. 646 milepost 2.5. Improvements consist of but are not limited to: structure excavation, excavation and reshaping of the channel, placement of in-stream cross-vane structures, installation of a culvert, placement of riprap, precast concrete footings, embankment and excavation of the roadway approaches, and road surfacing. Project Location: The project area is located approximately 12 miles southeast on the Mount Idaho Grade, then approximately 40 miles east on State Hwy 14 to the intersection of County Road 1859, then approximately 3 miles north on County Road 1859 to Forest Road 443, then 1 mile to the intersection of Forest Road 283 (Ericson Ridge) then 1.2 miles to Forest Road 646. The Lightning Fork Elk Creek Culvert project is located at mile marker 1.9 and the Little Elk Creek Culvert project is located at mile marker 2.5. Price Range: The Government's estimate for the total project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Pre-Bid Tour: None Pre-Bid Conference: None It is estimated that work on the project shall commence approximately July 1, 2014 with completion of the total project by September 15, 2014. Solicitation shall be issued in early April. Bid bonds are required if the total offer value exceeds $150,000. The acquisition has been set-aside for small businesses.
