Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate sole source commercial item procurement with Vistar Eye Center, Inc. to provide: Providing coverage for the Retinal Clinic located at the Salem VAMC oProviding services to clinic patients with hospital Residents in attendance oPerforming surgical procedures (laser and intraocular injections) oProvide an ophthalmic photographer oInstructing Residents on ophthalmic procedures; and oProviding surgical attending coverage for ophthalmic plastic surgery in the Salem VAMC Operating Room and evaluating patients in the clinic Services shall be provided to authorized veteran patients of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Salem, Virginia. The period of performance shall be for 12 months with 4 one year option periods. This proposed contract action is for services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit them no later than 4:30 p.m., March 24, 2014 EST to: angel.rhone@VA.gov or Fax: 757-728-3132. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
