- Description
- CH2M♦WG Idaho, LLC (CWI), 1580 Sawtelle Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83402. CPP-666 ION EXCHANGE RESIN REMOVAL, TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL. Contact Mr. Jim Alberico. CH2M♦WG Idaho, LLC, a contractor for the Idaho Cleanup Project (ICP) at the Department of Energy's (DOE) Idaho National Laboratory (INL) Site, is seeking an Expression of Interest (EOI) from firms to remove, treat, transport and dispose of spent fuel storage pool cleanup ion exchange resin. The radioactive ion exchange resin will be removed from the water treatment area of building CPP-666 and then either dewatered and solidified on-site or removed from the site and solidified off-site. Solidified resin must meet all transportation requirements for transport to the disposal facility. Solidified resin must also meet the disposal criteria for disposal at the Nevada National Security Site or other proposed disposal site. Any other proposed disposal site will have to be approved by CWI. Appropriate licenses and permits obtained at vendor expense must be in place prior to treatment under the contract(s). Resin solidified on-site will be shipped to the Nevada National Security Site by CWI. Vendor would be responsible for on-site removal and solidification of the resin to meet transportation and disposal requirements for shipment to the Nevada National Security Site. Resin removed from the facility and then shipped off-site for solidification and disposal would have to meet transportation requirements for off-site transport. The vendor would also be responsible for the off-site dewatering, solidification and transport to the Nevada National Security Site or other approved disposal site. The estimated amount of waste for which treatment is sought under this announcement is 500 cubic feet of cation resin and 500 cubic feet of anion resin with an option to remove an additional 500 cubic feet of cation resin and 500 cubic feet of mixed bed resin approximately 2 to 4 months after the initial resin has been removed. The spent ion exchange resin was manufactured by Rohm and Haas. Services to be contracted are for on-site and off-site activities which include removal, dewatering, solidification and treatment of spent ion exchange resin to meet applicable regulatory transportation and disposal standards and requirements. The treated waste must meet all regulatory and other applicable requirements for disposal. Development of the request for proposal (RFP) and treatment of waste under the contract(s) will be contingent on availability of necessary funding. Qualified respondents must provide: company name, address, point of contact, phone, email and a concise summary report that describes the capabilities of the respondent and a listing of similar activities within the last 3 years complete with reference names, emails and telephone numbers, and copies of applicable licenses and permits held including NRC and agreement state licenses for radioactive materials. This EOI is totally separate from all other solicitations involving facilities or services for the CPP-666 Ion Exchange Resin Removal and Treatment. Interested firms must forward the required information to: CH2M♦WG Idaho, LLC, Attn: Jim Alberico MS9103, 1580 Sawtelle Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83402. Overnight address: CH2M♦WG Idaho, LLC, Attn: Jim Alberico MS9103, CPP-1606 Warehouse, Scoville, ID 83415. Responses sent by email to james.alberico@icp.doe.gov are preferred.
