Description

Network Contracting Office (NCO) will be issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to obtain biohazard waste removal services for VA Northern California Region. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, containers that are appropriately sanitized, disinfected and labeled (except for Government-furnished "Sharps" containers used inside patient care areas), supplies, materials, labels, shipping containers and boxes, plastic bags, transportation and supervision required to provide pick-up, transport, treatment of bio hazardous waste from various Department of Veterans Affairs (henceforth referred to as "VA") medical facilities, during the period of June 1, 2014 (or date of contract award if subsequent thereto) through November 30, 2016, to include 3 1-year renewal option periods in accordance with the terms and conditions defined herein. Background information The Contractor shall treat and/or dispose of bio hazardous medical waste in accordance with all applicable State and Federal regulations, and VA requirements. Contractor shall maintain all necessary permits and licenses for the transportation, disposal and treatment of such waste as required by the California Department of Public Health, US Department of Transportation, and be a registered hazardous waste transporter with a current registration certificate issued by the State of California, and have all required insurances prior to the transport and/or disposal of subject waste. If contractor requires additional information, they may contact the California Department of Public Health, Medical Waste Program. The solicitation number for this RFP is VA261-14-R-0364. The solicitation will be issued on or about March 25, 2014, with an anticipated proposal due date of April 25, 2014. The NAICS is 562112 and the size standard is $12.5 million. Contractors must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov; In accordance with Public Law 109-461, this acquisition is a Total Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside. IAW Acquisition Flash 12-20 at the time of submission of Offer, offeror must represent that it is a SDVOSB concern and is verified for eligibility in VETBIZ VIP Database.
