- The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Information Resources, intends to award a sole source contract to Platts for a renewal service subscription of a suite of Platts services. The subscription will provide a suite of services covering all energy markets, including industry-benchmark price indices and market news and analysis. These services include: Gas Daily and Megawatt Daily. Platts is the only company that offers this service. The DOE is proposing to award a contract that consists of twelve (12) months. The DOE is using exemption to competition 6.302-1(a) (2) (ii), One Responsible source. This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available for this requirement. If a firm believes the DOE should not pursue this sole source contract with Platts, they should submit a capability statement and pricing information for the requirement by Monday, March 31, 2014 at 8:00AM (Eastern) via e-mail to karin.denburg@hq.doe.gov. The written response must include a general statement for services mentioned in this announcement and past performance information for relevant work. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
