- MARKET SURVEY REQUEST THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY to identify commercially available power amplifiers which are capable of meeting the basic requirements described below. This is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB). It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability and adequacy of potential sources for planning purposes only. Responses to this notice are not considered as offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of responses nor otherwise pay for the preparation of any information presented or the use of any such information. SPECIFICATIONS The Joint Tactical C4ISR Information Transceiver System program is conducting a market survey to identify a commercial technology solution that amplifies 7 specific frequency ranges within 5 frequency bands providing up to 20 watts of amplification in a single amplification box. The focus of this RFI is on products and/or technologies that are currently available in the commercial marketplace without modifications. In addition to the above, the product shall possess the following characteristics: 1. Commercial products with frequency range: UHF-400 to 470 MHz.....0-20 W L-1625 to 1850 MHz.....0-20 W S-2200 to 2500 MHz.....0-20 W C-4400 to 5000 and 5250 to 5850 MHz.....0-15 W Ku-14.4 to 14.84 and 15.15 to 15.35 GHz.....0-8 W 2. Spurious/Harmonics: MIL-STD-461F 3. DC Power: +28 +/- 4VDC @ 7.5 A, reverse polarity protected 4. Size: 6.5 X 6.5 X 2 inches or smaller 5. Weight: 5 pounds maximum 6. Connectors: RF Input: SMA Female RF Output: 4 each SMA Female Outputs (UHF, L/S, C, and Ku-bands) 7. Environmental: Temperature: -20 to +70 degrees C operational Humidity: MIL-STD-810G method 507.5 (non-condensing) Altitude: Sea Level to 70,000 feet Vibration: 4.12 g rms Shock: 20 g terminal sawtooth 9 msec. Immersion: 1 meter, 30 minutes Rain: MIL-STD-810G Method 506.5, Procedure I Sand and Dust: MIL-STD-810G Method 510.5, Procedure II (Blowing Sand) 8. EMI: MIL-STD-461E - CE101, CE102, CE106, CS101, CS114, CS115, CS116, RE101,RE102, RE103 9. Frequency selection and power level output in 2 simultaneous channels/bands controlled by radio. SUBMITTALS Interested parties shall respond by specifying if they have a current commercially fielded product that expressly meets the parameters listed above. Interested Parties shall submit a short summary (no more than 5 pages total) describing their products' capabilities in each of these areas. Interested Parties shall provide business size status based upon NAICS code 334220, small business size standard of 750 employees, CAGE code as registered at SAM.gov. Interested Parties may include item brochure information with the summary package by the Government's requested date of submittal of April 11, 2014. Interested parties shall submit information in response to this RFI to: Jessica.l.ely.civ@mail.mil Responses shall be submitted and received via email no later than 4:00PM EST 11 April 2014. Documents shall be electronic in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and/or Adobe Professional format and provided as attachments to the email. No telephonic responses to this RFI will be considered. Questions concerning this RFI may be addressed by contacting: Jessica.l.ely.civ@mail.mil. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. Responses to this RFI are not offers for contract and will not be used by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. Vendors having products that they believe would be suitable for military operations as described herein shall submit all supporting documentation requested by this RFI to the POC noted above.
