Description

THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. No Solicitation is currently available. The VA Palo Alto Health Care System will be issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to award a construction contract to a General Contractor for Project 640-389, Genomics Research Center. The project will be located on the southern section of VA Palo Alto Health Care System campus in Palo Alto, CA and will have a direct passage connection from the Building 51, which is an existing building that is currently being renovated and expanded. The Genomics Project will be a two-story building with approximately 10K gross sq. ft. The primary objective of this project is to construct a new research/office facility with wet/dry labs for staff of approximately 64. The project will include an open lab environment; rooms which will house tissue cultures, freezers, cold rooms, fume hoods, dark room lab, and an autoclave; and support spaces, i.e., electrical, mechanical, and telecom rooms. It is anticipated an RFP will be released on/about July 31, 2014. At this point in the procurement process, the Department of Veterans Affairs is performing market research to determine contractor socio-economic category, e.g. Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, 8(a) etc. and, bonding capacity. Interested firms should send, by e-mail only, the following information: Socio-Economic Category; DUNS number; Maximum bonding capability for a single bid and; total maximum bonding capacity. Information shall be sent to andrea.fair@va.gov by close of business April 11, 2014. Estimated construction cost is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Information received will be used in any set aside determination. The NAICS code for this procurement will be 236220.
