Description
THIS IS A SUBCONTRACTING OPPORTUNITY WITH GRAFTON jOB CORPS / ADAMS AND ASSOCIATES AND NOT WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR. Scope of Work Lighting in the sleeping rooms is excessive, energy-inefficient and distractive. Ambient lighting by 8" diameter recessed CFL light fixtures providing spotty, concentrated light is not appreciated by students and subject to abuse. The above bed lighting is provided by recessed linear fluorescent light fixtures located along the wall and controlled by one light switch at the door. Lack of flexibility to turn "on" only one light at time distracts students and is energy inefficient. The linear fluorescent light fixtures have T8-fluorescent lamps, but utilize original magnetic ballasts, which diminish energy-saving purposes. CFL light fixtures also have magnetic ballasts. Recessed light fixtures have many burned out ballasts and lamps. Provide design and installation of lighting enhancement in the sleeping rooms. Replace the (240) existing recessed light fixtures providing ambient lighting in the sleeping rooms with (240) new 35W LED recessed light fixtures, with initial lumens not less than 1500 lm, and with color temperature of 3500C. Utilize existing control and wiring. Replace the (272) existing above bed light fixtures with (272) new 4' wall-mounted linear fluorescent light fixtures, each with a T8 fluorescent lamp and electronic ballast. Provide a separate switch for control of each above bed light fixtures for energy saving and flexibility. Abandon the existing recessed light fixtures in-place. Utilize the existing wiring to serve the new wall-mounted fixtures. A Pre-bid meeting will be held on April 15, 2014 at 9AM. Attendance is mandatory for bids to be accepted. Contact David Field - Purchasing Agent at field.david@jobcorps.org or fax 508-887-7483. Phone calls will not be accepted. Bids will be due 7 days after the meeting. For a copy of the complete SOW please email and a copy will be sent.
