Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, VA North Texas HCS 75216 intends to enter into sole source procurement under FAR 6.302-3, Research Capabilities, with University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) for the procurement of research-trained veterinarian services. The procurement of these services will allow joint projects to continue without interruption. It is therefore in the best interest of the Dallas VA Medical Center to procure services from the vendor, as these services are currently in place. The Government has determined that this contract is necessary to maintain research capabilities with the current educational institution and intends to award to UTSW. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document shall be posted and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any contractor that determines it can meet the requirements may give written notice via e-mail to Lynda.Hernandez@VA.GOV prior to 04/01/2014 at 4:00 pm, Central Time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to meet the subject requirement. This information shall be provided at no cost or obligation to the Government. All responses received will be evaluated; however, the information received will be used solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement at the sole discretion of the Contracting Officer. If no responses are received, the Dallas VA Medical Center will proceed with sole source procurement to UTSW.
