- Description
- Trail Log_Drawings_Maps Specifications AG-0356-S-14-0013 SF18_Request for Quote Z- Coalpit-Pole Trail Construction and Reconditioning Project Location and Directions. The project is located in the Tobacco Root Mountains and is a popular bike trail system for both mountain bikes and dirt bikes. The project is expected to open up in early June or perhaps in mid-May. Work can begin as soon as the site is dry. This trail system is rocky. There is rock excavation as a pay item, bid appropriately. Access to the Mill Creek Trailhead (the beginning of the Coalpit Trail) is from Waterloo. Take the Whitehall Exit off I-90 and travel South on Hwy 55. After approximately 8 miles turn left onto a County Road with a sign "Waterloo" and cross Parsons Bridge. Travel approximately 2 miles and turn left towards the mountains. Continue on this road until you see a sign that says "Mill Creek Trailhead 4 Miles". Turn left onto this road and continue to the trailhead. High clearance vehicle is not required. Access to the Pole Canyon Trailhead may require a high clearance vehicle. To get to the Pole Canyon Trailhead, take the Cardwell Exit off I-90 and travel South on County Hwy 359 for approximately 4 miles. Turn right onto the Boulder River Road (signed). Travel approximately 7 miles to the junction with the Brownback Road. Take this road almost a mile and turn right. This road is roughly 3 miles and may be snowed in sooner than the Mill Creek Trailhead. At the end of the road is the Pole Canyon Trailhead Description of Work. The project consists of constructing four miles of new trails, and reconditioning over four miles of existing trail. Construction items include clearing and grubbing, turns, rock excavation, drainage structures, barriers, sign and bulletin board installation, stake refreshing and cleanup, and other miscellaneous trail construction items. The two turns on Pyramid Trail No. 7163 may not allow mini-excavator access. Contractor choice. The trail might be too narrow to safely negotiate the trail without reconstruction, however reconstruction is not a part of this contract, only reworking of the switchbacks is,quote appropriately. Site Visit. No formal site visit is planned but it is highly recommended bidders visit the site. The trail is rocky in spots and will require rock excavation. Please contact Kendra Bull, 406.683.3962 for more information. Price Range. Between $25,000-100,000. Start Work. It is estimated that the Notice to Proceed will be issued by June 1, 2014. Period of Performance. Contract shall be completed by July 30, 2015.
