Description
Currently, technology advances have introduced numerous Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) constrained systems to the combat environment. Current requirements exist and continue to emerge for securing numerous SWaP constrained systems. There is no NSA approved encryption solution exists to meet both operational and SWaP requirements/constraints The Air Force Lifecycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Cryptologic Systems Division Contracting Branch (HNCK), Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland, Texas, has a requirement for a Suite B based, NSA Type 1 certified Mini Crypto (MC) device that will be one size-fits-many cryptographic module for a variety of Small Form Factor systems. The cryptographic device will need to be capable of meeting highly optimized Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) constraints while supporting modest data throughput. SYNOPSIS The Mini Crypto program acquisition strategy is a single-step life cycle development, delivery, and deployment of MC solutions for a variety of Small Form Factor systems. The acquisition strategy includes the competitive acquisition for the system development, demonstration, certification, test, and validation, as well as Full Rate Production of crypto solutions for stand-alone MC devices. Additionally, the program includes the deployment and logistics support for these systems Air Force-wide. The estimated release date for the Request for Proposal is 16 April 2014. This requirement was previously identified via various Request For Information (RFIs) and Industry Days. An AFLCMC Ombudsman has been appointed to consider and facilitate the resolution of concerns from offerors, potential offerors, and others for this acquisition. Before consulting the Ombudsman, concerned parties should first address their concerns and issues, disagreements, and/or recommendations to the Contracting Officer for resolution. Consulting an Ombudsman does not alter or postpone he timeliness for any other processes. In addition to AFFARS 5352.201-9101, Ombudsman, will be included in the RFP and contract. The AFLCMC Ombudsman is Mr. Lawrence Coe, and can be contacted at AFLCMC/XZC, Bldg. 1618, 11 Eglin Street, Hanscom AFB, MA 01731-2100, Telephone#: 781-225-1740, E-mail: Lawrence.Coe@hanscom.af.mil'.
