Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, VISN 2 Network Contracting Office (NCO), on behalf of Veterans Administration Medical Center Syracuse, plans to contract by means of other than full and open competition the Aquamantys Pump Generator (40-402-1)). The Government intends to award a sole source contract for this requirement. The NAICS code is 339113 and the Classification code is 6515. The suggested Vendor is Medtronic, Inc., 710 Medtronic Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55432-5604. Requested items consist of 2 each Aquamantys Generators. The Aquamantys system and bipolar sealers feature Transcollation technology, a combination of radiofrequency energy (RF) and saline that provides hemostatic sealing of soft tissue and bone during surgery. Transcollation technology is particularly important in thoracic/lung surgery because: 1. It helps achieves hemostasis 2. Controls blood loss 3. Reduces transfusion 4. Decreases complications and reduces postoperative patient morbidity 5. Prevents bleeding at critical structures 6. Improves visibility in the surgical field 7. Decreases surgical time All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. This is not a request for proposal. However, companies that can provide an equal product must submit their technical capabilities to include the technical specification of their product, past performance information, price and delivery time. The information submitted will be reviewed by the Government technical representatives for considering future requirements. Responses to this notice should include the following: name and address of company, Dun & Bradstreet number, business size, and any other pertinent information that demonstrates firm's ability to meet the above requirement.
