Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA requires following inspection and repairs. All known deficiencies, as identified shall, be corrected by the contractor. The contractor shall maintain and provide, to the Contracting Officer Representative, documentation of each item corrected. Documentation shall be maintained by Unique Identifier, with each including a general description of work performed and the contractor's certification of item completion. Any work performed which impacts the systems (i.e. Simplex, Metasys, etc.) shall be fully incorporated into the existing system. Fully incorporated is to include the complete installation and operation of fully compatible devices which are tied into the existing system and added to the existing graphical interface programming if appropriate. This work may require the successful bidder to involve of the original equipment manufacturer for the performance of the work. The contractor shall perform and document an annual test and inspection of all smoke/fire/hazardous location doors within the facility in accordance all applicable codes. The testing and inspection shall be performed by a certified party, with a complete listing of deficiencies identified and provided for each inspected door. In the event that no deficiencies are found for an inspected door, documentation shall be provided stating No Deficiencies Cited. Testing and inspection shall be performed by a certified party and conform to American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) E 814, ASTM E 1966 and Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 1479, UL 2079 standards NFPA 80, 101 and 105, as well as any additional applicable codes. The magnitude of this VA construction project is estimated to be between $25,000 and $100,000. Period of Performance will be approximately 90 calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. All work on this project must be accomplished between 7:00 PM and 4:00 AM Monday through Friday. Set-Aside Information: This solicitation is to be issued as a 100% service-disabled veteran small business set aside (SDVOSB). The firm must be small business under relevant North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) code and the must be registered and current in the following websites: www.ccr.gov and www.vetbiz.gov. Offerors must ensure registrations in these websites are not expired and are correct, current and valid. The NAICS code for this project is 236220 - Commercial and Institutional Building Construction Contractors, and the small business size standard is $33.5 Million. A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be held within two weeks after issuance of the solicitation. The exact date/time/location of the conference will be specified in the solicitation. The solicitation documents will be posted at the Federal Business Opportunities website (http://www.fbo.gov) on or about April 16th 2014.
