Description
BMC2 AMTI RFI dated 2 Apr 2014 The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/Electronic Systems Development Division (AFLCMC/XZC) is leading an early systems engineering project to explore ways to improve the BM/C2 AMTI functions that are currently being accomplished onboard the U.S. Air Force (USAF) E-3 Airborne Warning & Control Systems (AWACS). The objective of this RFI is to identify innovative concepts to perform BM/C2 AMTI missions. The concepts should provide a means to accomplish these missions at lower cost, lower risk, and with improved capability to enable operations in an Anti-Access/Area Denial (A2/AD) environment. The focus of this RFI is to explore concepts and/or enabling technologies to provide improved AMTI BM/C2 capabilities. Improvements could be to the existing system or subsystems, an adjunct to the system, or a complete replacement. The concepts could include distributed and/or centralized assets; manned or unmanned vehicles; and one or more domains (space, air, ground and maritime). The concepts should address survivability, sustainability, maintainability and technical maturity in a 2030+ timeframe. Responders should consider operations in an A2AD environment. Concepts should address architecture information such as system-to-system interfaces, communication and functionality descriptions to include the primary types of information exchange elements. "Out-of-the-box" thinking is HIGHLY encouraged.
