- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineer District, New Orleans, has a requirement to eliminate seepage, provide fronting protection and stabilize the earthen section at the pumping station (PS) by designing and constructing T-wall segments on the quote mark flood quote mark side of the existing levee alignments and tying into the adjacent levee sections. The new T-wall will be constructed to elevate 10.0 feet. The T-wall shall be located in the existing levee alignment and embedded within the levee. It would consist of a sheet-pile cutoff wall below the base foundation, steel H-pile (approximately 54,000 ft) for support and approximately 3,000 cubic yards (cy) of concrete would be used to form the T-wall structure. Incidental work includes replacement of all features necessary to facilitate the construction of the permanent fronting T-wall segments, and replacing all existing access roadways along the local levee reach in the vicinity of the pump stations. Both Pumping Stations projects will be constructed concurrently. St. Bernard Parish will be able to fully utilize pump stations #2 and #3 reducing the potential for flooding within the developed areas. The estimated value of this work is more than $10,000,000. The solicitation will be issued on or about 18 April 2014, and a bid opening date will be established in a future amendment. This solicitation is 100% set aside for SMALL BUSINESSES.
