Description
Sources Sought Notice The Department of Veterans Affairs, only including VISN3 VHA facilities, are seeking sources to provide disposable 12-lead Electrocardiogram (EKG) leads (mentioned as EKG leads) for their physiological monitoring equipment. The requirement is needed for diagnostic physiological monitoring, bedside physiological monitoring, telemetry monitoring, etc. At a minimum, the disposable 12-lead EKG leads must meet the following requirements: 1.The required disposable 12-lead EKG leads are to include disposable 12- lead EKG cables and an adapter if needed and fully compatible and compliant with VISN3 physiological monitor systems. 2.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads shall reduce risk or cross contamination with reusable ECG and Lead Wires. 3.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads shall reduce risk or cross contamination with reusable ECG and Lead Wires. 4. The disposable 12-lead EKG leads shall avoid patient exposure to multiple reusable ECG cables and lead wires. 5.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads shall replace the reusable EKG lead wires currently used at each VISN3 site listed above with a single patient use disposable EKG lead system. 6.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads must not increase the risk of false alarms, especially "Leads Off" clinical alarms and artifacts. 7.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads must not cause any loss of patient data. 8. The disposable 12-lead EKG leads must have adequate shielding. 9.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads shall be fully compatible and compliant with VISN3 physiological monitor systems. 10.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads shall come with a usage guarantee that can withstand usage on a single patient for a maximum set of time. 11.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads shall be securely connected to the patient gel electrode. 12.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads shall be attached to electrode with minimum discomfort to patient. 13.The disposable 12-lead EKG shall be closed snap or grabber type to attach to the gel electrode. 14.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads shall be color coded and labeled for EKG specifications per applicable standards. 15.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads shall consist of 12-leads, which include the following: V2,V3,V4,V5,V6, V(V1),RL,LL,RA,LA 16.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads shall be high quality, long lasting and durable to typical wear and tear for an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting. 17.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads shall be shielded for electromagnetic interference (EMI) to reduce artifacts and false alarms 18.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads' sets must be able to integrate safely and properly with various different medical monitoring systems and clinical devices. 19.The disposable 12-lead EKG leads shall comply and have been approved to be utilized with the VISN3 physiological monitoring equipment listed below and comply for clinical and technological organizational standards, for example, AAMI and IEC. Training must be provided to all clinical staff (including clinical engineering) that must use the disposable EKG leads when it is implemented and whenever the users or clinical staff requests it at any time of the day or year. Technical Support and phone support (including educational material) and email must be provided with no charge for as long as we have the items at any time of the day or year. The vendor must provide the training material when the vendor provides training. 21.Furthermore, on-Site demonstrations and testing of disposable 12-lead EKG leads shall be arranged with VA personnel/point of contacts from each site as part of the evaluation process. This request is for information purposes only. No pricing information is requested in association with this RFI. No contract or other legally binding document or order will be awarded as a result of this RFI. Any respondents bear full responsibility for the costs of response preparation.
