Description
The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity, (USAMRAA) in support of U. S. Army Medical Materiel Agency, (USAMMA) intends to negotiate solely (as prescribed in FAR 13.106(b)(1)(i) with Active Signal Technologies, 611 N. Hammonds Ferry RD, STE Q, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090-1322, for the procurement of one thousand (1,000) dual-mode, Noise Immune Stethoscope devices in the base year, with four one-year options, for an additional 1,000 devices each year. The end user has a requirement for dual-mode, Noise-Immune Stethoscopes, (NIS) in support of Army assets. The system shall be used to listen to heart and lung sounds in high-noise environments such as medical evacuation vehicles. This NIS must use an acoustic listening mode with ultrasound-based technology that is noise immune to amplify heart and lung sounds. This technology will have the capability to easily switch from Doppler to acoustic mode. Both modes shall be able to immediately turn body sounds into electrical signals for enhanced performance. The NIS shall permit medical personnel to assess abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system in high-noise environments like the transportation of wounded Soldiers in medical evacuation aircraft, ground warfare, and intensive care units. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 339112 and the size standard of 500.
