Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement Maintenance Dredging of the Royal River Federal navigation project located in Yarmouth, Maine. This announcement is to determine the interest, availability and capability of HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237990. The project is planned to be issued on or about July 2014. The construction will occur in the fall and winter of 2014-15 and is expected to take several months. The estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The work of this project consists of mechanically dredging the Federal Navigation Project, which consists of an 8-ft entrance channel, and a 6-ft anchorage in the inner harbor. About 82,000 c.y. of predominantly silty-sand will be dredged by mechanical dredge. Dredging in the channel will require the use of a closed bucket to minimize turbidity adjacent to the dredge. A closed bucket will not be required when dredging the anchorage. The dredged sediment will be disposed of at the Portland Disposal Site located approximately 15 nautical miles from the dredge area. Anticipated work window is October 1, 2014 to April 31, 2015. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.), a proof of bonding as well as what type of equipment would be utilized for this project. Additionally, firms must submit experience in performing work requirements stated above. This experience must have been performed within the last five years. Responses are due by April 25th, 2014. Responses should be sent via email to Elandria M. Cameron (Elandria.m.cameron@USACE.Army.mil). Responses are limited to twenty pages. Interested firms shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy.
