- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under the authority of 13.106-1(a)(2)(b)1)(i)for a bridge contract for the period 16 April 2014 through 30 June 2014 with SC Jones Services, Inc., 764/762 Settlers Landing Road, Hampton, VA for grounds maintenance at the Washington Aqueduct and satellite installations. The contractor is required to furnish supervision, labor, materials, supplies, and the equipment necessary to perform grounds maintenance services at Washington Aqueduct Division and outlying areas for the period 01 April 2014 through 30 June 2014. Approximately 129 acres are maintained under this contract and involves work at the following locations: Dalecarlia Water Treatment Plant and Reservoir - 5900 MacArthur Blvd NW, Washington, DC which is the primary location; outlying areas of responsibility include Dalecarlia Residuals Processing Facility, Washington, DC; McMillan Treatment Plant and Reservoir, 2500 1st St, NW, Washington, DC, Cabin John Bridge, MacArthur Blvd, MD; Little Falls Pumping Station, Clara Barton Pkwy, MD; Hydro Building, Clara Barton Pkwy, Washington, DC; Georgetown Reservoir & West Shaft Bldg., MacArthur Blvd, Washington, DC; High Reservoir #1 - Foxhall Road and Whitehaven Pkwy, Washington, DC; - High Reservoir #2 - Van Ness and 45th St., Washington, DC; High Reservoir #3 - Fessendon and Nebraska, Washington, DC; Conduit Cross Connections, MacArthur Blvd, MD; Ruth Building improved areas and parking lot, MacArthur Blvd, MD. This bridge contract will provide the minimum amount of time necessary to solicit a competitive acquisition and award the future new 5 year contract that is currently being developed. Failure to issue this bridge contract would result in a devastating disruption to the daily operations of Washigton Aqueduct Division and satellite installations. Information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement for the bridge contract. The determination to not compete the proposed bridge contract acquisition is within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by 2:00 PM EST, Tuesday 15 April 2014 will be considered by the Government.
