Box 190022, North Charleston SC 29419-9022 Description Request for Information (RFI) ALERT AND WARNING SYSTEMS DUE: APRIL 24, 2014 The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlantic, Advanced Technology and Assessments Branch (Code 52130), in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Technical Hazards Division (THD) Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) Program, is seeking information on alert and warning system products, services, and technologies that can provide alerts and notifications to the public. FEMA THD established the REP Program to ensure that the health and safety of citizens living around commercial nuclear power plants would be adequately protected in the event of a nuclear power plant accident and inform and educate the public about radiological emergency preparedness. The REP Program responsibilities include state, local, and tribal government emergency planning and preparedness activities that take place beyond the nuclear power plant boundaries. Jurisdictions surrounding nuclear power plants are charged to establish a system for alerting the pubic in the event of an emergency and disseminating appropriate information thereafter. The purpose of this RFI is to gather information on alert and warning system products, services, and technologies that can be utilized to provide alert and notification to the public. This RFI seeks to collect any and all systems that can be used for such public alert and notifications. Responses will be collected and analyzed as part of a market study to support REP Program goals. All information received will be treated as public knowledge and may be used in market study documentation; therefore, vendors should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. Specific information sought includes: 1. Company information, including name, address, and website; 2. Whether the company is a manufacturer or distributor; 3. A point of contact for follow-up information, and the point of contacts phone number and e-mail address; and 4. Type of alert and warning system product. 5. Whether or not your product is available for off-the-shelf purchase or requires customization. 6. Whether or not your product requires on-going maintenance. 7. Whether or not your product is compliant with IPAWS. 8. List customers currently using your product.
