- This is NOT a Request for Proposals. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract to Abacus Solutions, LLC. Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC), Millington, TN, a Non-Appropriated Fund Instrumentality (NAFI) of the Federal Government, intends to award a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed Price Contract to Abacus Solutions, LLC. This source possesses specific knowledge and capabilities to perform the service noted below. The contract Period of Performance will be one (1) year from date of award. Abacus Solutions was the only vendor who responded to and successfully provided a Proof of Concept/Demonstration to migrate CNIC's current physical XP PC POS environment to a VMware Horizon View using NetApp shared storage SAN and ClearCube zero clients. The request for Proof of Concept was posted on GSA eBuy September 19, 2013; RFQ ID # RFQ828819. The following requirements/deliverables support the aforementioned task: Gener a l R eq u i r e m e n t s: The contractor shall provide all hardware and software required to install the VMware Horizon View environment to include but not limited to the NetApp devices, Dell server blades and any infrastructure upgrades needed to support the virtual desktop environment at two CNIC FFR locations. The contractor shall provide the ClearCube zero clients and licensing required for the virtual desktop environment. The contractor shall configure the VMware Horizon View to act as virtual desktops for 2500 ClearCube hosts. VMware Horizon View must be compatible with existing POS software (Rectrac), ERP system (SAPgui client), time keeping system (Kronos, web based) and hospitality system (Epitome web based). The ClearCube zero clients must support the current USB peripherals to include, but not limited to, a pin pad device, receipt printer, pole display, Boca ticket printer, touch screen monitor, keyboard and mouse. Hosts shall be configured on a Dell Blade server and all the devices must be connected to Cisco Nexus switches via iSCSI and Fiber. CNIC FFR also requires the same equipment, setup and configuration at a Disaster Recovery (DR) site, which is located in Culpepper, Virginia. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS •a Upgrade/Install the current NetApp SAN and add additional shelves or head units as needed and properly configure using best practices. •b Work with CNIC FFR administrators to design the layout and configuration of the storage controllers. •c Perform volume configuration (aggregates and flexible volumes) on NetApp controllers and perform Snapshot TM configuration on volumes •d Perform additional configuration on NetApp controllers for options, volume options, Auto Support, SNMP, and Remote Configure remote shell access •e SAN fabric design (IP SAN) and perform IP SAN configuration Recommend and prepare host patches, accounts, and network settings •g Perform the setup and configuration of the Cisco Nexus switches to ensure that they have been properly configured using best practices in our environment. •h Set up IP and gateway address of switches and validate switch connectivity •i. Complete verification testing: hardware testing, HA failover testing •j. Install and configure VMware Horizon View and properly configure using best practices •k Provide a basic management overview of the implemented VMware Horizon View solution. DELIVERABLES: Primary Site (Millington, TN): •a 2500 ClearCube Zero Clients with 7 usb ports •b Dell M1000 Blade Center 24 Blades •c 2500 VMware Horizon View Licenses with VCops and Support •d NetApp Storage to add to existing infrastructure to Support 2500 Virtual Desktops •e Network Infrastructure to add to existing cluster to support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) deployment at FFR headquarters •f. Project Planning, Management, and Implementation from Start to Finish Including Dedicated Project Manager utilizing best practices for VDI with CNIC Rectrac POS System, SAPgui, Epitome and Kronos (Task) •g Install and configure snapMirror replication at DR site (Task) DR Site (Culpepper, VA): •a Dell M1000 Blade Center 24 Blades •b NetApp Storage to add to existing infrastructure to Support 2500 Virtual Desktops •c Network Infrastructure cluster to Support VDI Deployment Government Furnished Property, Equipment and Services: • Primary Site: Power and rack space DR Site: CNIC will provide power and rack space _________________________________________________________ This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals.
