- Description
- The USAID Health Office Deputy Director/CSO Strengthening Specialist fills a key technical and management role. In addition to management and oversight responsibilities for the USAID team, the incumbent contributes to the team's ability to achieve results by providing essential programmatic and technical expertise and guidance within the team for all civil society components of the Botswana program-from community TB, to HTC, GBV, PHDP, and key population interventions. The incumbent will serve as the Contracts/Agreements Officer's Representative (C/AOR) and/or Activity Manager for PEPFAR-funded awards and contracts issued by the USAID/SA Regional Office of Acquisition and Assistance (ROAA), as well as USAID/W-procured Field Support activities. The incumbent is supervised by the USAID Supervisory Health Development Officer who is the USAID Health Office Director. The incumbent also directly supervises at least five internationally and locally employed professional and administrative staff. The USAID Health Office Deputy Director/CSO Strengthening Specialist also provides strategic guidance (PEPFAR Guidance, USAID Policy, and internationally recognized best practices) to the interagency PEPFAR team and USAID implementing partners to develop and implement annual Country Operation Plans. The incumbent is the subject matter expert for all matters relating to the institutional and technical capacity building of local CSOs, as the USAID portfolio shifts from funding large international NGO projects to smaller direct agreements with local NGOs that are capable of delivering critical HIV-related services especially in hard-to-reach and underserved areas of Botswana.
