Participants will meet at the gate on S. Wakeley Bridge Road, parking on the side of the road. Look for a white F-150 with a Forest Service Logo on it. The visit will include a.75 mile walk through woods to the project site. Starting date of this contract will be contingent on the receipt of applicable State Permits which have been applied for by the Government. The Huron-Manistee National Forest is announcing an opportunity to bid on a project to replace a water control structure, rehabilitate an emergency spillway and complete minor dam maintenance on the Wakeley Lake Dam in Crawford County, Michigan. This acquisition is advertised as a HubZone small business set-aside. In accordance with FAR Part 36.204(b), the estimated magnitude of construction is between $25,000 and $100,000. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237310. The Small Business Administration size standard is $33.5 million. Contractors are required to be actively registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) database and completed their online representations and certifications. Bacon-Davis wage rates will apply to this contract. This IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis, the pending solicitation or any follow up information requests. The solicitation will be posted to the FedBizOpps website on or about April 14, 2014. No hard copies of the solicitation, supporting documents and applicable amendments, if any, will be provided. To receive the entire solicitation package and any applicable amendments, prospective offerors must download them from the FedBizOpps website. Contract estimated completion date is July 3, 2014. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, soil erosion control, cofferdams, excavation, bedding aggregate, placement of precast concrete box culvert and water control structure including metal grate and composite stop log, backfill, riprap, and turf establishment. Contractor must provide for and furnish all labor, superintendence, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, permits, certificates, insurance, temporary protection and other items designated under provisions of this contract necessary to complete the entire project per specifications and in the established timeframe.
