- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, MD, intends to negotiate and award a Small Business Set-Aside Competitive Contract, in accordance with FAR 19.502-2(b). The applicable Product Service Code is 6220 and the NAICS code is 336320, which has a size standard of 750 employees. The Contractor must have the ability to obtain and provide the development and qualification to deliver Light Emitting Diode (LED) and Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) interior cockpit lighting and exterior aircraft lighting for the VH-3D Presidential Helicopter. The lighting shall provide the capability for the VH-3D interior cockpit lighting and exterior aircraft lighting to comply with current Day, Night and NVIS requirements and utilize LED lighting to reduce overall electrical loads and aircraft gross weight. The effort will encompass the development of the LED light; manufacturing of various prototype units; the performance of light output, electrical power and environmental testing necessary to qualify and receive flight clearance for the LED light with the option to deliver additional LED lights. This solicitation will be issued in electronic format only. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be available. Other methods of requesting a package will not be honored. This solicitation is anticipated to be available on or about 02 May 2014. Note: The Response Date referenced under General Information does not refer to the PROPOSAL DUE DATE. Information on the PROPOSAL DUE DATE will be stated in the solicitation. Offerors must register in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov. After completing SAM, contractors and their subcontractors must register at www.fbo.gov in order to download RFP documents. Contractors can go to FedBizOpps and search for the solicitation number at www.fbo.gov Contractors can register to be put on a plan holders list that others can access through the FedBizOpps site.
