Description
Project Area Map Plouse Machine Piling It is the objective of this contract to obtain high quality services to ensure adequate fuel reduction of the hazardous fuels generated through logging activities (Bear Stew 7 & 8, Cherry Pit 1, 3 & 9) and to achieve the need of hazardous fuels reduction in WUI identified areas (Bear Stew 7 & 8, Cherry Pit 1, 3 & 9). Areas to be treated are machine corridors identified by the Forest Service treating up to 25% of the area of each unit (Bear Stew 7 & 8, Cherry Pit 9) and 100% of the area of each unit (Cherry Pit 1 & 3). The Contractor shall perform this work in compliance with all terms, specifications, and provisions of this Contract. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government-furnished), and incidentals necessary to perform fuel reduction services on the designated areas. Bear Stew Units 7 & 8 The project consists of reducing fuels generated through harvest activities on Unit 7 & 8 of the Bearstew Stewardship. The project area is on the Palouse Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Project site is located on forest road 3347, slightly South and West of the community of Bovill. From Deary, Idaho drive west on state highway 8 for 0.4 miles, turn right (north) onto state highway 9. Drive north on state highway 9 for 2.4 miles, turn right onto county road Mica Mountain Road. Drive north on Mica Mountain Road for 1.6 miles turn right onto Forest Road 3347. Drive east on Forest Road 3347 for 5.3 miles to the Bear Stew Units 7 & 8. FR 3347 dissects the two units. Cherry Pit 9 The project consists of reducing fuels generated through harvest activities on identified areas within Unit 9 of the Cherry Pit Timber Sale. The project area is on the Palouse Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Project site is located 3 miles north and east of the community of Helmer, Idaho on forest road 1444. Project Area: From Deary, Idaho drive east on state highway 8 for 4.8 miles. Drive through the small community of Helmer and turn right on county road Forks road. Travel east on Forks road for 1 mile, turn left onto Forest Road 1444. Travel north on Forest Road 1444 for 1.4 miles. Cherry Pit 9 is on the left. See "Project_Map_Cherry_Bear_Piling" in Section O, Attachments, for detailed location information. by the Forest Service to complete fuel reduction.
