Solicitation 14-102-SOL-00011 Project description: Install a water treatment unit to soften the water at the Nespelem clinic. Place of Performance: Nespelem Indian Health Clinic 29 San Poil Street, Nespelem, WA 99155 Work takes place on an Indian reservation. Licensed plumbing tradesmen in the State of Washington are required to provide the services under this project. The water softening unit shall meet the following requirements: • Peak water demand of 75 gpm • Inlet static pressure of 90 psi • Maximum pressure loss at peak demand of 20 psi • Water is provided by the Nespelem water system, raw water quality included in Attachment B • Consistently provide treated water with less than 3.5 grains per gallon, or 60 mg/l of hardness • The building operates during normal business hours; it is not necessary to provide a 24-hr treated supply • Assure the unit is properly protected from hot water back flow • Extended low flow periods are common, channeling needs to be prevented • Provide a complete manual system bypass for servicing • The system's control valve shall provide an automatic hard water bypass in the event regeneration is required during normal business hours • The system shall record actual flows and provide delayed regeneration, timers are not allowed • Base the annual operation cost estimate on treating 1,000 gallons per day • Domestic water service pipe size is 2-1/2" copper • The facility is approximately 19,000 sf • The system will be installed in the Room 501/504 (see attached floor plans and photos) in accordance with applicable codes and in a manner that does not impede maintenance access to the new unit or existing building features • The system shall treat only the building's domestic hot water and cold water supply.
