- Synopsis VA528-14-Q-0249: This is a public synopsis of a forthcoming solicitation in accordance with FAR 36.213-2. This is NOT a solicitation, and no solicitation documents are currently publically available. The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a remediation services contractor to furnish all labor, tools, materials, equipment, supplies and supervision required for asbestos abatement in four separate areas at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Canandaigua, NY. Competition for this procurement is restricted to SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB). The Canandaigua VA Medical Center requires asbestos abatement in four separate areas on the Canandaigua Campus. Bldg. 1 room 345 has developed a leak in a condensate return line in the ceiling of room 345 and will require approximately 10 linear feet of Thermal Systems Insulation (TSI) removed to repair the line. Bldg. 1 North Stairwell condensate return line from the basement to the 4th floor has developed a leak and will require approximately 50 feet of TSI removed to repair the leak. Bldg. 33 basement corridor outside of room 10 has a steam leak and will require the removal of approximately 8 linear feet of TSI. Bldg. 1 room 127 has approximately 140 square feet of carpet requiring removal. The existing 9"X9" vinyl tile under the fully adhered carpet is known to contain asbestos and requires abatement. Estimated construction cost range is $25,000 - $100,000. The firm must be a Remediation Services firm approved under NAICS: 562910, size standard: $13.0 million. The offeror shall obtain any and all necessary licenses or permits required to perform this work in the State of New York. Prospective contractors must be registered and certified online with http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov and must be registered at http://www.sam.gov in accordance with 38 CFR Part 74 and VAAR 819.70 to be eligible for award. Solicitation will be posted on/about May 5, 2014. A walk-through will be held on or about one week after the posting of the solicitation for this RFQ. These dates are estimates.
