Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee intends to issue a sole source firm fixed priced contract to Olympus Corporation. Olympus Corporation will perform repairs on three Olympus CYF-V2 endoscopes in accordance with the original equipment manufacturers written repair procedures. The three Olympus CYF-V2 endoscopes will be shipped to the vendor's repair facility and returned to VAMC Memphis, 1030 Jefferson Avenue, Memphis, TN 38104. This requirement will be Sole Sourced because Olympus Corporation is the only vendor capable of carrying out repairs according to manufacturer's procedures. The Olympus CYF-V2 endoscopes are needed to perform bladder and kidney examinations and procedures. They are also an essential tool for cystoscopy procedures, which are carried out in order to identify problems with the urinary tract, such as early signs of cancer, infection, strictures (narrowing), obstruction, and bleeding. The repair of this equipment is needed in order to carry out continuity of patient care. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 and 13.106-1(b) (2), "soliciting from a single source." The NAICS code is 811219 and has a size standard of $19M for this procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit quotations no later than 8:00a.m. CST, April 18, 2014 to: Matthew.Cox@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
