Description
SOW for MAK Trailers REQUEST FOR INFORMATION The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), National Veterinary Stockpile (NVS) has a requirement for a mobile trailer that uses a CO2 system for the mass depopulation of poultry. NVS is the nation's repository of critical veterinary supplies, equipment, and service resources. It has ability to deploy within 24 hours large amounts of critical veterinary resources, ensuring states have what they need to respond to catastrophes and other outbreaks. Depopulation is an important tool for controlling catastrophic animal diseases. NVS has acquired appropriate countermeasures to depopulate large commercial poultry facilities but lacks equipment to depopulate small holders of poultry existing outside of the integrated commercial poultry production system. The purpose of this requirement is to obtain equipment to efficiently and humanely depopulate backyard and hobbyist poultry flocks (equaling 50-100 birds per location) or small poultry production facilities (flocks ≤ 1000 birds). Ultimately, we wish to purchase 12 mobile trailers, manufactured in accordance with the attached draft statement of work (SOW), for this purpose. We ask that interested parties review the SOW and provide any information as to the feasibility of providing mobile trailers for the above-stated purpose, in accordance with this SOW, and any other information that would help us to meet this goal. This is not a request for proposals. The government will not award a contract based on this request for information or the information received, nor will it reimburse participants for the information they provide. The NAICS code for any future solicitation would be 336214 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. Written responses are due no later than 3 p.m., CST, on Friday, May 2, 2014, to the attention of Jim Roloff, Contracting Officer, via e-mail to james.g.roloff@aphis.usda.gov. Phone 612-336-3223.
