- Description
- The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hereby issue a notice of intent on a sole source basis under the pursuit of FAR 6.302-1 with JEOL USA Inc. for preventative maintenance service for a JOEL JEM-2100, Transmission Electron Microscope System. The FDA has identified JEOL, Inc as the only contractor able to meet the requirements of this procurement. The FDA intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract to JEOL USA Inc., 11 Dearborn Road, Peabody, MA 01960-6043 for preventative maintenance service. JEOL is the sole manufacturer and distributor of this particular instrumentation including parts, products, and services for the instruments. JOEL engineers are highly trained for the specific instrumentation. JEOL replacement parts and certified technicians are required to ensure accuracy of the instruments. The NACIS code is 811219. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes or proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. Respondents may submit information pertaining to their capabilities to perform the services required above within a timely manner to Ms. Yahtzee Moody at yahtzee.mody@fda.hhs.gov which may be considered by the agency. A determination to compete this procurement from the responses received shall be based upon the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that an award will be issued the JOEL USA Inc. fifteen (15) days after the date of this notice. Unless, the Government determines another vendor has the capabilities of meeting this requirement. All responses to this notice of intent shall be received no later than 2:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) on 8 May 2014 via email to Ms. Yahtzee Moody at yahtzee.moody@fda.hhs.gov.
