- Description
- Equipment List - 2014-N-16440 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health, Division of Laboratory Sciences intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price maintenance agreement contract to Hamilton Company, 4970 Energy Way, Reno, NV 89502. This contract will be for a base year of 12 months with 4 option years of 12 months each. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1- only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement. The Division of Laboratory Sciences uses the Hamilton Star and Starlet instruments, instrument peripherals, and software to accomplish its public health mission. These instruments are used in specialized research projects, testing, emergency response methods, and ongoing studies for methods that rely on the Hamilton Microlab Star and Starlet workstations to aliquot specimens. As initial warranties expire for purchased instruments, they need to be covered by a maintenance agreement, which provides preventive maintenance and required services to ensure that the instruments are maintained in optimal operating condition and are available to perform required analyses. Hamilton Company is the sole manufacturer of the Hamilton Company Star and Starlet instruments and the only company capable of offering trained and certified technical and scientific staff with field service engineers trained on the Hamilton equipment. Additionally, Hamilton has experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and completing preventive maintenance practices for the Hamilton equipment. As the sole developer of the Hamilton Company Microlab Star Vector and Venus software, Hamilton Company has the ability to assist the CDC with any function in Hamilton Company software, including maintenance, necessary upgrades and updates, and method applications and development. The equipment to be covered under the contract is included as an attachment to the FedBiz notice. No solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps. We will only issue a solicitation to Hamilton Company. Hamilton Company is the only source available to provide this service that meets mission critical requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for proposal. A determination to compete this procurement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to meet this requirement. All responses must be sent in writing to Ms. Alma Barber via email to vel3@cdc.gov using solicitation number 2014-N-16440 in the subject line, no later than 6:00pm Eastern Time, May 9, 2014.
