- Market Research and Sources Sought Notice for information on capability and availability of potential contractors interested in proposing on an Firm Fixed-Price Contract for Construction Engineering / Design Studies and Services for the Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide engineering and design services for converting and constructing cold climate homes in the State of Alaska, specifically, in the City of Galena. The contractor should anticipate requirements to include construction engineering, design, consultation, and training based on existing cold climate housing research specifically for the State of Alaska. In addition, contractors will be responsible for analyzing and designing a more efficient and effective insulation system for increased vapor content in the building envelope, and structural analysis for load conditions on cold climate housing in the City of Galena. This is a SOURCE SOUGHT Notice and is NOT a solicitation announcement. The Government will not reimburse for information regarding this Notice. The purpose of this Market Research/Sources Sought Notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified Local Alaska Firms that have the capability of performing the work described in the paragraph above. Responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis will be used by the government in making appropriate acquisition decisions. Insulation Design/Study (List 3 Projects with project description & dollar value) c. Construction Engineering/Study (List 3 Projects with project description & dollar value) 3.
