- The announcement number for this acquisition is NIH-OLAO-OD3-NOI3303805 and is being issued under the authority of FAR Subpart 5.101 under the conditions as described in 6.302-1, 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This acquisition is not a small business set-aside. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334519, which has a size standard of 500 employees. The National Institutes of Health intends to purchase the update for the Genie-2000 Spectroscopy & Gamma Analysis system from Canberra Industries, Inc. The software and equipment were purchased in 2011 to perform gamma analysis in order to determine internal activity concentrations for personnel using radioactive materials for research, as required by the NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission). Further specifications can be given upon request. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will review and consider all responses submitted. Responses must be submitted no later than 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST), April 30, 2014 to Anne Mineweaser at NIH/OD/OLAO. Only electronic submissions will be accepted at mineweasera@mail.nih.gov. All information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow the government to determine if it can meet the above specifications described herein. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Please reference the announcement number on all correspondence.
