- The United States Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center, Detachment Norfolk VA, intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quotes (RFQ) for a drydock and repairs to the USCGC OBION (WLR-65503) and its 100-Foot Barge (99008). The NAICS Code is 336611. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Small Business Set-Aside. Request for Quotes (RFQ) will be issued on or about April 24, 2014. The acquisition is to perform a drydock and repairs to the USCGC OBION (WLR-65503) and its 100-foot Barge (99008). All work will be performed at a Contractor's facility within the Geographical Restriction as stated: Restricted to the Western Rivers of the United States. The Western Rivers means the navigable portions of the Mississippi River and its tributaries above mile marker 0 of the Lower Mississippi River. Navigable tributaries of the Mississippi River include on the waterways within the area of jurisdiction of Coast Guard aids to navigation facilities as described in Light List Volume V and the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to the mouth of the Mobile River. This includes protected portions of the Intra-Coastal Waterway (ICW) connected to the Western Rivers, but especially excludes unprotected or open waters such as Mobile Bay, Lake Borne, and the Gulf of Mexico. The anticipated Period of performance is fifty (50) calendar days from 27 August through 15 October 2014. The solicitation will be issued electronically via the Federal Business Opportunity web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for the RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, renewing and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC OBION and its 100-Barge. This work may include, but is not limited to: 1.
