Description
NEPHROLOGY SERVICES Veterans Affairs Central Iowa Healthcare System (VACIHS) Des Moines, Iowa (**MODIFICATION TO PRESOLOICITATION NOTICE. RESPONSE DATE CHANGE ONLY. CHANGED RESPONSE DATE OF 4/21/2014 TO 5/19/2014**) The Veterans Health Administration in Des Moines Iowa has a requirement for Nephrology Services under the Enhanced Medical Sharing Authority, Title 38 U.S.C. 8153 implementing Public Law 104-262 in accordance with VHA Directive 1663 for executing medical service contracts. The services are to be performed for and at the Des Moines Iowa Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The contractor will be responsible for providing an experienced board certified Nephrologist and a midlevel provider to perform Acute Nephrology services to inpatients and outpatients. Consults may be required at patient's bedside. Services include the full range of nephrology medical care for inpatient and outpatient VA beneficiaries including consultation, diagnosis, therapy and treatment, and prognosis of patients with nephrology disorders, and any other required services in accordance with industry standards on a scheduled or emergency basis. The contractor will be paid hourly for the services performed under the contract. The contractor's hours will be tracked and invoiced. There will be no other costs chargeable under this contract. The contractor shall accept payment for services rendered under the contract as payment in full. VA beneficiaries shall not under any circumstances be charged nor their insurance companies charged for services rendered by the contractor. The type of contract is anticipated to be an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The length of the contract is anticipated to be 5 years - one base year with four one year options. It is anticipated that this contract will be awarded September 1, 2014 and be effective until August 31, 2019 if all options are exercised. In accordance with FAR 16.504(a) (4) (ii) the maximum dollar value is $600,000 inclusive of any exercised options for an award. The contract minimum dollar value for the base period is $10,000. For option periods one through four, if exercised, the minimum guarantee is $10,000. The solicitation documents will be available on or about April 23, 2014 and will be posted via the FBO website. Prospective offerors should not expect notification of issuance of amendments other than via the FBO website and are responsible for obtaining all amendments as posted. Prior to submission of a proposal, offerors are expected to read the solicitation documentation in its entirety to fully understand the scope of work, terms, and conditions of the requirement(s). Offerors who are unable to access or open uploaded attachments may contact the Contracting Officer to obtain copies.
