- Description
- The purpose of amendment 003 is to extend the closing date for accepting responses, and to add to the Contractor Requirements and Instructions to Offerors on submitting quotations previously stated. If there is ever a conflict between what is previosuly stated to the current amendment, the current amendment will take precedence. This announcement is soliciting quotations for supply and delivery of bulk gases for the Porter Neuroscience Research Center, Phases 1 &2, bldg 35/35A. The acquisition purpose is to supply building 35/35A Porter with a constant bulk gas supply and a delivery schedule for gases. Background Gases are a requirement in Porter I and II for the daily scientific research; researchers rely on the gases for ongoing experiments that are conducted throughout time frames ranging from 1 day, to several weeks. It is imperative that there is no interruption in gas supply, as this will adversely affect the Science, (Critical specimens and years of research lost). There are three bulk tanks on the facility, that supply the building with house gases: Carbon Dioxide, Liquid Oxygen and Liquid Nitrogen. The liquid nitrogen feeds an LN2 freezer farm, as well as supplying the building with house Nitrogen. Nitrogen gas is pressurized and used to "float" isolation tables which ensure that there is no adverse consequence from any vibration in the area. In addition, carbogen mixers at the bulk tank area mix and supply the building with house carbogen, a combination of oxygen and carbon dioxide. This mixed gas is essential in experiments examining the function and development of neurons in the brain. Scope The following requirements are essential to the government requirement. Vendor will accommodate a 6 am or earlier delivery schedule to offset loading dock constraints. Vendor would be required to make at least 2 deliveries per month minimum of all three gases, but a maximum of whatever is needed to continue the uninterrupted flow of gases to the Porter facility. The vendor will monitor all gas levels twice weekly and make recommendations when observed gas levels are low. Vendor can accommodate same day delivery when required. Vendor should have a standard next day delivery policy. Vendor will submit quotes based on the annual quantities and units of measure listed below, Carbon Dioxide 72000 LB Liquid Nitrogen 144000 CC Liquid Oxygen 14400 CC
